Instructions for Dosage:

The prescribed medication is Zofran 4mg (Ondansetron). Take one tablet by mouth three times daily as needed to prevent nausea and vomiting.

Allergies:

Do not take Zofran if you are allergic to ondansetron or similar medications such as alosetron, dolasetron, granisetron, palonosetron, or any of the ingredients in ondansetron products.

Conditions:

If you develop any of the following conditions, stop taking the medication and contact us immediately:

  • Pregnancy
  • Hypersensitivity to 5-HT3 receptor antagonists
  • QT interval prolongation

  • Serotonin syndrome
  • Liver disease

  • Phenylketonuria

  • Dizziness, fainting, or confusion
  • Palpitations or irregular heartbeat
  • Fever
  • Nausea, vomiting, urinary retention, or diarrhea
  • Excessive sweating
  • Loss of coordination, stiff or twitching muscles
  • Seizures or coma

Medications, Supplements, and Foods:

Inform us if you are taking any of the following before using Zofran:

  • 5-HT3 receptor antagonists and other serotonergic drugs
  • SSRIs and SNRIs
  • Seizure medications (e.g., carbamazepine, phenytoin)
  • Clarithromycin, erythromycin
  • Fentanyl, lithium
  • Migraine medications (e.g., almotriptan, eletriptan, frovatriptan, naratriptan, rizatriptan, sumatriptan, zolmitriptan)
  • Methylene blue, mirtazapine
  • MAO inhibitors (e.g., isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine)
  • Moxifloxacin, apomorphine
